The CommonsThe Kenneth Young Center is offering one-on-one assistance with applying for the Illinois Benefit Access Program, which provides a $10 license plate renewal discount and free rides on RTA buses and trains. To qualify, applicants must be Illinois residents who are either 65 or older, or 16 and older with a qualifying disability. Income limits for 2025 are $33,562 for a one-person household, $44,533 for two people, and $55,500 for three. Applicants must bring proof of 2024 income (such as SSA-1099s or tax returns) and a valid photo ID. Don’t miss this opportunity to get help completing your application and accessing valuable benefits.
