After a brief overview of the overall picture, Natalie Lynn Lichtenbert, co-chair of the Hoffman Estates Sustainability Commission and chair-at-large of the Climate Reality Project's Chicago Chapter will review the National Climate Assessment for the Midwest to see how we in Illinois are being affected, along with potential outcomes. An increase in average temperatures, an increase in average overall precipitation and longer periods of extreme cold are just some of the changes we are beginning to see. Climate changes will affect our area in many ways including our agriculture, our surrounding environment and our own health. We'll end with a solutions theme so that you feel empowered and hopeful to create positive change for our planet and people. Climate Reality Project, founded by Al Gore, is a non-profit organization devoted to solving the climate crisis.
