Join us for a book club designed for children with autism spectrum disorders, sensory processing sensitivities, or disabilities. This month, we read aloud, talk about, and complete activities based on the book Leila the Perfect Witch by Flavia Z. Drago. Caregivers are encouraged to attend with their child; siblings are also welcome.
Leila Wayward is a little witch who excels at everything she does. She dreams of winning the Magnificent Witchy Cake-off and wants her entry to be perfect. But even with the most bewitching of recipes, she realizes a terrible truth: she's a disaster in the kitchen. Luckily, her sisters are happy to share their culinary secrets with her and Leila discovers that baking with them is fun! Win or lose, she has already tasted the sweetest thing of all: acceptance.
