The Schaumburg Library will be hosting photographer Hans Klemmer to guide you through a 4-week course on how to make your iPhone photos professional quality! The class will culminate in a gallery showing in July of the participant's photos at the Library.

Day 1 - June 6th
iPhone camera basics
Initial camera settings
Introduction to camera controls
First assignment
Day 2 - June 13th
Continue with advanced iPhone controls
Editing controls
Using iPhoto to edit your images
Second assignment
Day 3 - June 20th
Pre- vs. post visualization
Aesthetics of the photographic image
Composition, use of color to draw the eye
Image shape, cropping and highlighting your subject matter
Third assignment
Day 4 - June 27th
Use of apps with iPhone photography: Snapseed, Touch Retouch, Lightroom, Halide, Adobe Firefly etc…

About Hans Klemmer: Hans holds a Masters in Fine Arts in Photography from the University of Ulster in Belfast, NI. He was a popular teacher at the College of DuPage for nearly twenty years where he instructed students in all forms of photography and photo history. He is currently based in the Chicago area, but has wandered the world extensively as a travel photographer since 1979. His work is in private collections in both the US and Europe, and several of his prints are in the permanent collection of the Royal Ulster Academy. When he’s not out making photographs, he can usually be found creating fused glass sculptures in his studio in Elgin, IL. Hans has also never ever owned any computer that didn’t have an Apple on it.
