This nationally acclaimed performance appropriate for families honors the world of Anne Frank and young people during the Holocaust. Bear witness to history and experience World War II through a dynamic combination of live theater and archival film footage. Performed by Elgin Kelley who started working with Living Voices in 2008. She studied theatre at Webster Conservatory of Theatre Arts and Drew University.
Presented as part of Violins of Hope, a collection of 70 string instruments played by Jewish musicians before and during the Holocaust that have been painstakingly restored, now touring Chicagoland libraries, museums and cultural institutions with a message of hope, resistance, resilience and unity. A selection of violins will be on display at our Library August 7 - September 7.
This event is presented in partnership with JCC Chicago, Arlington Heights Memorial Library, Aurora Public Library, Gail Borden Public Library, Joliet Public Library, Schaumburg Township District Library, Skokie Public Library and Vernon Area Public Library.
