Pop-Up Program: Cheap Dates for Cheapskates

To celebrate Valentine's Day, drop by any of our library locations to check out a Cheapskate's Date Night Bundle with a library movie DVD, chocolates, and popcorn. The movie must be returned to the Library, but the chocolate and popcorn are yours to keep. This drop-in event will be available on February 12th. These date night bundles will be themed by movie genre.
Valentine's Day is a holiday with origins rooted in both Christian martyrdom and ancient Roman fertility rituals, specifically Lupercalia. The holiday was designated on February 14th, and the connection to love and romance developed over centuries, influenced by literature from Geoffrey Chaucer and others, the creation of handmade cards in the Middle Ages, and the mass production of cards in the Industrial Revolution.
