What goes into covering high profile stories when the whole world is watching? Journalist Tessa Duvall was the co-lead reporter on the case of Breonna Taylor, the 26-year-old Black woman fatally shot by Louisville Metro Police in her apartment March 13, 2020. With her reporting partner, Darcy Costello, she analyzed thousands of pages of documents, broke dozens of stories and pushed the city and police to be transparent and accountable to the public. Her coverage led to guest appearances on ABC's 20/20, MSNBC and CBS News. A fact-check she wrote to debunk social media misconceptions about the case generated more than 2 million page views and nearly 150 subscriptions for the Louisville Courier Journal.
