Help us make a community quilt together! Join the Schaumburg Library in making a community quilt that answers the question: How Can We Make a Better Future Together?
You can pick up your paper quilting square from the Welcome Desk at any Library location, or request one from Curbside Pickup by emailing sdriscoll@stdl.org or calling (847) 923-3395. Or simply create one at home by cutting a piece of paper to 8.5" x 8.5". Use your imagination and decorate your square with anything you can find: crayons, markers, paint, feathers or recyclable materials.
Let us know what’s important to you and your future – whether that’s education, a strong community or the environment. We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Throughout the month of August look for additional programs about the history of quilts, as well as interactive Zoom programs for all ages where we’ll be decorating our quilting squares together. Once your quilt square is completed, return it to the Welcome Desk at any Library location so we can put all of the pieces together and showcase our Schaumburg Library community quilt.
This program will take place online on Zoom. After registering, you will receive a link to the Zoom webinar at least one hour in advance of the program.
