Explore the powerful legacy of the summer of 1964, a pivotal time for voting rights that led to a dramatic challenge at the Democratic National Convention. Museum staff will share artifacts, films, and stories highlighting the roles of SNCC, MFDP, Fannie Lou Hamer, and COFO.
About the Museum:
Opened in 2017, the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum is the state's only museum dedicated to the Civil Rights Movement. Its focus is on the impactful stories of Medgar Evers and Emmett Till. Program Manager Drew Gardner will present highlights from the exhibits and collections.
