Katharine Houghton Hepburn (May 12, 1907 – June 29, 2003) was an American actress whose career as a Hollywood leading lady spanned six decades. She was known for her headstrong independence, spirited personality, and outspokenness, cultivating a screen persona that matched this public image, and regularly playing strong-willed, sophisticated women. Her work was in a range of genres, from screwball comedy to literary drama, and earned her various accolades, including four Academy Awards for Best Actress—a record for any performer. In 1999, Hepburn was named the greatest female star of classic Hollywood cinema by the American Film Institute.  In Kate!, she musically tells the story of her life, including her partnership with Spencer Tracy and other amours, her upbringing, her Broadway work, and events in her life that made her tick. 

About the performer: Jillann Gabrielle is a highly skilled cabaret and musical theatre singer, actress, comedienne, host/MC, creator/writer/producer, and a vocal/acting/voice over instructor. She is actively writing and producing projects for the stage and screen as vehicles for her talents as well as to bring her unique kinds of stories to the ever-thirsty entertainment business. She currently lives in Crystal Lake, IL, with her long-suffering, musician, songwriter, and recording engineer husband, Phil Barrile.
