Harpist, Abigail Hughes Stoner, performs a selection of classic love songs on the harp. A perfect night out for music lovers and couples looking for a romantic pre-Valentine date.
About the artist: Abigail Hughes Stoner is an active solo artist and distinguished pedagogue in the Chicago and West suburbs area. She frequently performs on both harp and piano and is currently the principal harpist of the Fox Valley Orchestra. In the past, she has performed with the Lake Geneva Symphony Orchestra, the Illinois Valley Symphony Orchestra, and the Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra. As a session artist, Abigail has worked with multiple groups including singer-songwriter Casely, Streetlight Manifesto, and Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution. She is the founding harpist in the flute and harp chamber ensemble, Duo Dahlia.
Aside from performing, Abigail enjoys passing on her musical knowledge to her many students and has appeared as a judge for 2021, 2022, and 2024 BitterJester Music Festival Competitions. She currently serves as a board member for the Greater Chicago Chapter of the American Harp Society and is Vice President of the Historical Harp Society. Abigail completed her Bachelor in Harp Performance from Wheaton College in 2017 and her Masters in Harp Performance and a Performer’s Certificate from Northern Illinois University in 2021 and 2022. Most recently, she completed a Masters in Music History from Northern Illinois University in 2024.
