Chicago’s late 19th century and early 20th century social history and architecture are nicely wedded in this tour showcasing two handsome house museums. Begin the day in Evanston with a tour of the lakefront Charles Gates Dawes mansion, built in 1894. In the afternoon, tour the Glessner House, built in 1887, and its Prairie Avenue environs. In between tours, enjoy New American fare at Boltwood, where the farmers, the market and the seasons dictate the menu. Please note: the locations on this trip are not ADA accessible.
