Visit the Lock 16 Visitor’s Center, with exhibits and multimedia about the historic Illinois and Michigan Canal. Attend Mule Tending 101 class, where you’ll learn about the care and feeding of Molly and Moe, the mules who pull the LaSalle Canal boat. Next, board a replica of a 19th Century canal boat pulled by the mules. Guides will tell the story of how the Canal changed Illinois history. A pre-selected lunch at historic Starved Rock Lodge is included.
