This legal clinic is for immigrant families who want to put safety plans in place for their children in the event of emergencies, including hospitalization and detention. Sit down with an attorney who can help you put a legal guardianship plan in place. Presentation starts at noon and attorney consultations begin at 1 p.m. Presented in English and Spanish by Chicago Volunteer Legal Services.
Documents to bring for consultation with attorney:
• copies of ID of each parent
• copies of children’s birth certificates
• copies of any court orders regarding custody of children or any prior guardianships
• name, address, and phone number of designated guardian
