Serving families with children from birth through age 5 in School District 54. Family literacy programs, offered at several locations throughout the district, include activities such as shared reading, singing, music and movement, art, dramatic play, exploration and fine and gross motor skills. Families can also seek the support of a Child and Family Educator during this time.

With over 1 million visitors each year, the library circulates over 2,000,000 items annually and is the second largest public library in the state of Illinois.
