Join us for our non-fiction book discussion group. This month's title: The Underground Girls of Kabul: In Search of a Hidden Resistance in Afghanistan by Jenny Nordberg.
The Afghanistan culture is ruled almost entirely by men, but there are the bacha posh – girls who are raised as boys and presented as such to the outside world. A powerful account of those secretly living on the other side of a segregated society where women have almost no rights and very little freedom.
