Discover the wonders of biodiversity and how you can contribute to scientific research in your own community. In partnership with Spring Valley Nature Center, this program offers a hands-on experience that combines environmental education with real-world data collection.

Explore the diverse ecosystems of Spring Valley Nature Center’s reserve. Knowledgeable staff help guide you through various biomes, explaining the unique species and habitats that thrive in each environment. Also, learn practical tips on how to observe and document biodiversity in your own neighborhood.

As part of the experience, there is a data collection kit included, which helps you record and share your observations through the iNaturalistic app. Through the app, patrons can actively contribute to ongoing biodiversity research, helping scientists track wildlife populations and environmental changes.

This program offers an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in nature, conservation, or science to get involved and make a tangible impact.

Please Note: This event is located at the Spring Valley Nature Center (1111 E Schaumburg Rd, Schaumburg, IL 60194). Please arrive 15 minutes before the program time. Staff members from STDL are there for assistance.
